Biography

Silvano Tagliagambe is Professor of the Philosophy of Science in the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza'.

Since 1994 he has been Vice-President of the CRS4-Centro di Ricerca, Sviluppo, Studi Superiori in Sardegna (The Research, Development and Post-graduate Studies Centre of Sardinia) (http://www.crs4.it), presided by Carlo Rubbia. Among its projects the CRS4 has experimented with distance learning modules for teaching staff and for primary information on the Internet for students.

Tagliagambe analyses the relationships between philosophy and science, the relationship between reality and its representation, the world and the language in which man describes it.

His studies of the relationship between thought and language have also led him to explore certain aspects of Russian culture and the relationship between Marxism and epistemology.
